Earlier this week, I came across the colourful illustrations of Ginnie Hsu, and my imagination was immediately captured. I have never seen paintings animated like this and I was absolutely delighted.
Ginnie Hsu is an illustrator, designer, educator, herbalist, yogi...pretty amazing, right? Her work tends to incorporate a lot of my personal favourite elements: Nature and botany, people, and traditional scenes with a whimsical touch. Ginnie uses a mixture of medias to create her art, often watercolours, acrylic gouache, and coloured pencils.
Ginnie's illustrations are incredibly detailed. From tiny bricks on houses to the pattern on a blanket draped over the back of a chair, everything is so intricate, which gives Ginnie's work such a candid, human touch.
Here are just a few of her pieces!
